Take down recurve bows offer the hunter and archer an easy compact way of storing their bow. The upper and lower limb will detach from the riser as shown in the following visual reference. The advantages are not only limited to portability but maintenance as well. If a limb forms a crack in a full size recurve bow then most likely the whole bow is best used for firewood. A take down though if a limb forms a crack you simply replace the faulty limb. So you can enjoy your bow your entire life without replacing the whole setup, simply swap out the old limb for a new one and you back to shooting.
Bear Archery recently came out with a new traditonal bow called the Bear Takedown Supreme. The 60 inch hunter is made up of exotic hardwoods such as exotic Rosewood and Zebra-wood riser sections along with Zebra-wood limbs backed in clear fiberglass have been used to craft these stunning bows that are both superior in the field and certain to be tomorrow’s collectible. The inlaid compass is a signature feature of all of the top of the line products they offer and is especially useful for recurve bow hunting.
The detachable limbs are securely mounted on the riser ends with bolts and rubber spacers for cushion. With proper maintenance these bows will last a lifetime. I like to store my bows in a bow case to keep it like new. They offer bow cases at any sporting retail outlet or you can order them online. I like a sturdy bow case to tote around my equipment to protect it from damage and the elements.
Traditional Archery dates back since when we first were created by God. Indians on the prairies relied on the stick bow to provide their families with sustenance from the land. They were mindful to use every part of the animal and revered the animals like no other generation has. It is from this we must learn of how to respect the tools we use and the game we hunt. To respect it, to use it with care and keep our conscious ever mindful of that tradition and how valuable it is to us as archers and hunters. I came across a video dedicated to the traditional archer and I can’t say how much it cleansed my soul and made me realize how important our traditions are to us. I look at all the technology in the world and see the hunting numbers decreasing every year. I hope we can keep this tradition alive by teaching kids how to shoot with a traditional bow.
Check out one of my latest articles called Archery Popularity were we take a look how archery overall is increasing but hunting numbers are decreasing. So with that I leave you, intill next week I wish you the best and hope you get your first robinhood!
